Local artist, Beverly Erschell, received an Associate of Arts degree from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and studied two years at the Cincinnati Art Academy. She then recieved a B.F.A. with High Honors and an M.F.A. from the University of Cincinnati.
Erschell explains, "My paintings are a collage of ideas expressed in a highly colorful, painterly style affirming life, nature and beauty. Three strands of modernism dominate my paintings - light, color and energy. My landscapes, still-life and figures are cerebral, portrayed in a reflective manner rather than an imitative way."
Erschell has been a painting instructor at the University of Cincinnati, art history professor at the Cincinnati Art Academy, and drawing and art appreciation instructor at Northern Kentucky University. Publications include articles in Antenna Magazine, the Cincinnati Enquirer, Cincinnati Post, Washington Post, Washington Times, Louisville Courier Journal, Cincinnati Magazine and Sarasota Herald Tribune.
